From 2001 to 2010 Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation led activities in Belarus.
Through an extensive program of humanitarian aid, SDC has assisted in promoting the Institute under the project "Development of the International Rescue Training Center”. Particular attention was paid to the development of professional skills of the teaching staff - foreign experts conducted a series of specialized training, teachers of the Institute were trained in their profile specialties abroad.In 2009 international expert in the field of emergency prevention and elimination D. Bishop, during the evaluation mission of the SDC project "Development of the International Rescue Training Center” evaluate the Institute's capacities, stressing that the Institute is the educational center of high-quality education of international level. At the expense of SDC since 2003 till 2010 first 436 rescuers from 15 countries passed training at the IRTcentre.
In February-April 2018, 35 rescuers of the Ministry for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Uzbekistan were trained at the IRTcentre funded by the Embassy of the Swiss Confederation in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
On September 25, 2019, IRTcentre hosted a delegation from the Swiss Confederation. Among the representatives were: Manuel Bessler - Head of the Humanitarian Aid Corps of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation; Dietrich Dreyer - Advisor to the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation; Roland Ballin - Head of Administration and International Relations, Federal Office of Civil Protection; Anna Leonardi - Head of the radiological department of the National Center for Emergency Operations. During the visit, the guests convinced that the joint Belarusian-Swiss project to create an International Rescue Training Center was successful.
