The Institute participated in a number of IAEA projects in the field of prevention and elimination of radiological incidents 13.09.2003 - 21.09.2003 - Participation in the regional seminar on "Education and training the staff of centralized locations for collecting, processing and disposal of radioactive waste.

13.06.2005 – 14.06.2005 - Participation in the National seminar under the IAEA project “Planning and coordination in the event of a radiation accident " on the base of the Minsk city emergency department.

04.09.2005-17.09.2005 - Participation in the national project of technical cooperation with IAEA "Improving the infrastructure of the Republic of Belarus in the field of prevention and elimination of radiological accidents".

05.05.2006 - Participation in the joint meeting of the working group on technical cooperation with the IAEA and TACIS.

5.06.2006 - 8.06.2006 - Participation in the seminar "Response to events of undeliberate movement and illicit trafficking of nuclear and radioactive material across the border» Smorgon, Republic of Belarus.

24-30.09.2006 - IAEA expert advisory mission to assess the Institute’s training program "Response to radiation accidents and incidents.

On January 16 till 27 2012 representatives of Armenian Rescue Service have passed training on this training programme at the expense of IAEA.

On April 2, 2012 the Institute hosted the delegation of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) headed by the Director General Yukiya Amano. The Director General spoke to the participants of IAEA national training courses for first responders on radiological accidents that started at the Institute, got acquainted with educational activities of the Institute. The IAEA head was impressed by the Institute’s training facilities, particularly by the possibilities of modeling a large number of emergencies at the Institute’s Training Area.

From March 21 till April 01, 2016 the Institute held studies for 5 representatives from Radiation Safety Centre of State Environmental Service of Latvia on the training program “Responsible for radiation safety and radiation control” at the IAEA expense.

In October 12, 2018 the IRT center demonstrated tactical and special exercises on elimination of the consequences of radiation emergency situations. Among the observers were representatives of the republican government bodies, as well as the participants of the EPREV mission - experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

In October 08-20, 2018 the IAEA mission on emergency preparedness and response worked in Belarus. During the two-week visit the delegation visited the units of the Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Energy, Ministry for Emergency Situations and some organizations. Foreign experts are making a supervision and analysis of how Belarus is ready to react in the accident at a nuclear power plant, including those provoked by extreme natural factors.

On December 17, 2020 Mariya Kanina the teacher of the chair «Elimination of Emergency Situation» took part in the Webinar "Capacity building and knowledge, and program sustainability for EPR education between universities". At this webinar, she presented the Training-of-Trainers model as a framework for training potential instructors. Such training successful and fruitfully is applied at the IRTcentre. The webinar discussed the benefits and challenges of the training.
