From August 12 to 23, 2024, six representatives of the Armed Forces of the United Arab Emirates participated in a training program at the IRTcentre. The program aimed to enhance their skills in responding to radiation accidents.
During the training, trainees learned about factors that pose a threat in radiation accidents and essential aspects of radiation safety. They also gained knowledge on radiation monitoring, dosimetry monitoring, and decontamination devices. Additionally, they were trained in providing medical and psychological support in case of a radiation incident.
To apply their newly acquired skills, the trainees practiced responding to a radiation incident using radiation monitoring devices at the IRTcentre's operational and tactical training grounds.
Field classes were held for guests at the Republican Emergency Management and Response Center; the Republican Special Purpose Department «ZUBR»; Scientific and Production Enterprise «ATOMTECH», the Educational Center for Life Safety of the Ministry for Emergency Situations.
As part of the cultural program, guests had the opportunity to explore the sights of Minsk and Borisov, as well as visit the places of military glory in the Borisovsky district. They also visited the Park-Museum of Interactive History "Sula", the National Library of the Republic of Belarus and the Museum of Miniatures "Strana Mini".
Throughout the cultural program, the guests not only learned about the Belarusian traditions but also had a chance to taste traditional cuisine.
